Extension of the last date for submission of the applications for FMGE December 2020 Session

The last date for submission of the applications for FMGE December 2020 session has been extended  to 5th November 2020, to enable the unsuccessful/ candidature cancelled candidates to apply.

The Edit Window for FMGE December 2020 session shall now be available on 7th and 8th November 2020 for all candidates.

The FMGE-Screening Test has been introduced by the Screening Test Regulations 2002. As per the regulations, “An Indian citizen possessing a primary medical qualification awarded by any medical institution outside India who is desirous of getting provisional or permanent registration with the Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council on or after 15.03.2002 shall have to qualify a screening test conducted by the prescribed authority for that purpose as per the provisions of section 13 of the Act.”

As per the current schedule, the Screening Test is conducted by the National Board of Examinations in June and December every year.   

Scheme of FMG Examination : 

• The FMGE Examination is held twice a year in June and December.
• The FMGE test is conducted in English language.
• The FMGE test shall be conducted as a Computer Based Test comprising of 300  Multiple Choice Questions of single correct response type without any negative marking as per the existing scheme of Foreign Medical Graduate Examination.
• There is NO negative marking in FMGE Exam.
• An FMGE applicant shall be declared as having passed only if he/she obtains a minimum of 50% of marks in the examination.
• FMGE Results (Pass/Fail) for eligible candidates will be displayed at the website and office of NBE. Marks obtained shall be declared for all the candidates and also displayed at the website
• The applicants who qualify the FMGE Screening Test may apply to the Medical Council of India, New Delhi or to any State Medical Council for provisional registration / permanent registration.
• There are no restrictions on number of attempts that can be availed by an FMGE applicant.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR FMGE

The FMGE Applicant must meet/fulfill the following criteria : 

a) He / She is a citizen of India or Overseas citizenship of India.   

b) The FMGE candidate should possess a primary medical qualification, which is confirmed by the Indian Embassy concerned, to be a recognized qualification for enrolment as medical practitioner in the country in which the institution awarding the said qualification is situated.

c) Cut-off date for obtaining the Primary Medical Qualification is on or before 30th November 2020. It is mandatory to provide proof/documentary evidence in support of the candidate having passed final examination for such a primary medical qualification/posses the primary medical qualification on or before the cut-off date. In the event of the date of issue of result/proof of primary medical qualification being after the prescribed cut-off date, the application form shall be rejected and candidate declared as ineligible.  

d) Candidate seeking provisional or permanent registration shall not have to qualify the FMGE Screening Test if he/she holds an Under Graduate medical qualification from Australia/Canada/New Zealand/United Kingdom/United States of America and the holder thereof has also been awarded a Post Graduate medical qualification in Australia/Canada/New Zealand/ United Kingdom/United States of America and has been recognized for enrolment as medical practitioner in that country. 

e) FMGE Applicants/Candidates may also refer to Screening Test Regulations and Regulations on Graduate Medical Education, Eligibility Certificate Regulations issued by Medical Council of India. EXAMINATION FEE (Non-Refundable) for FMGE

FMGE Candidates are required to submit the following fees : 

a) FMGE Examination Fee – Rs 5500/- (Five Thousand Five Hundred) + Rs.990 (GST @ 18%) = Rs.6490/- excluding payment gateway charges as may be applicable

The above FMGE fee is inclusive of examination fees and information bulletin. Please note that this is a composite fee (as above) inclusive of fees for the examination and information bulletin. Information Bulletin shall also be available at website for information   

b) FMGE Late Fee – To be submitted by candidates submitting their application form after the cut off date but before the cut off date with late fee as prescribed in this Information Bulletin – Rs 1500/- (One Thousand & Five Hundred only)

How To Pay for FMGE : 

The prescribed registration fee should be remitted through payment gateway provided using a Credit Card or a Debit Card issued by banks in India or through Net Banking.

Examination Details for FMGE DECEMBER 2020

a) The FMGE exam shall be held on 4th December 2020
b) The FMGE exam start at 9:00 AM
c) Reporting Time for the FMGE candidates is 07:00 AM
d) The Exact venue Shall be notified in the FMGE Admit Card.
e) FMGE Applicants are to make own arrangements for Travel /lodging etc.
f) All FMGE candidates are required to bring their Passport as proof of Identity at the exam centre. Candidates may not be allowed to appear in exam if they are unable to produce original passport.
g) Candidates are advised that (due to security reasons) they may not be allowed to leave the exam center from 09:00 AM till the completion of Examination.
(h) FMGE Demo Test : A demo test shall be available for the benefit of candidates to familiarize themselves with the Computer Based Test format at website  Applicants will be able to access the Demo test from 24th November 2020 onwards. 

FMGE Admit Card & Test Day Procedures:  

FMGE Admit Card: Admit cards shall be made live on National Board of Examination   website www.nbe.edu.in on 27th November 2020 onwards. Admit cards will not be issued to candidates found ineligible.

Candidates will be informed through SMS/Email alerts and website notice regarding availability of the FMGE admit card on National Board of Examinations website. FMGE Admit card will not be sent to the candidates by Post/Email.  

FMGE TEST DAY PROCEDURES: National Board of Examinations shall be conducting the Social Distanced - Computer Based Test (SD-CBT) in safe and secure environment using touch free processes maintaining social distancing norms wherever needed. National Board of Examinations reserves its rights to review the test day processes of conduct of CBT in wake of changing scenario of COVID-19 pandemic.

FMGE Test Centre Location: Exact address and location of the test centres shall be indicated in the FMGE admit card. Candidates are advised to familiarise themselves with the test centre locations at least one day prior to the FMGE examination day and ensure that they report for the exam as per scheduled time only.

CENTRES FOR FMG EXAMINATION : The tentative list of cities where FMGE December 2020 session shall be conducted is as follows:

Candidates shall appear at the test centre indicated on their FMGE Admit Cards at their own cost.

New User Registration: All candidates desirous of applying for FMGE December 2020 session shall be required to create an online profile of themselves to generate a User ID and Password.

Applicant Login: This User ID and Password so created will allow the candidate to login as an applicant for FMGE December  2020 session and register an online application. The “Go To Application” link will allow the applicant to continue with the application submission immediately after user creation.
